"A Taste of Heaven"
Be strong and of a good courage,
fear not, nor be afraid of them:
for the LORD thy God,
He it is that doth go with thee;
He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Deuteronomy 31: 6

While attending school in Rutherford County, working a third shift job & trying to raise a family, the pressures of life closed in on me. My whole life began to spiral downward w/o spiritual support & w/o real & truthful people in my life that was not fearful of confronting me with love about different areas of my character that needed to be addressed. I did, as many people do, hide & deny the effects it was having on me. The more I tried, the more difficult life became. I was in a bad situation & didn't know how to handle my situation in a good way.
During this period I became unbearable, very short tempered, & offensive w/my family. I was very critical of others, had confrontations w/friends & w/co-workers. I lost my job, my family, & my friends. I was angry with myself for being this way.
I saw avenues (drugs/alcohol) ahead that could replace what I felt & what I lost. But thru the help of my family, friends, & a true man of God I was able to find help in my life. A local attorney referred me to this man of God at Murfreesboro Community Church, who accepted me as I was w/o judging me.
I have learned that the pastor & ministers at MCC are led by God to restore & deeply challenge many to change their life for the better. The compassion this pastor & church has for this city is so amazing that God has led me to become a part of this ministry & suppport the dream/vision God has placed in our pastor's heart. He does care & is truly dedicated to the ministry of those in our city that many have forgotten about or care not to mention their names.
