Love in Action
“Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”
— 1 John 4:11 (NKJV)
Love is more than a word we say; it is a gift we receive from God and share with others.
In 1 John 4, we are reminded that God showed His love by sending His Son into the world so that we might have life through Him. We did not have to earn God’s love. He loved us first, and His love gives us the example and the reason to love one another.
Sometimes loving others is easy. At other times, it requires patience, forgiveness, and a willingness to listen. A kind word, a helping hand, or a moment spent praying with someone can make a difference in a person’s day.
As the House of Loving-Kindness, let us be a church that puts love into action. We may not know what someone is facing, but God can use our compassion to remind them that they are seen and cared for.
This week, ask God to show you someone who needs encouragement. Then take a step: make the call, offer a prayer, or lend a helping hand.
A question for reflection: Who can I show God’s love to in a practical way this week?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us and showing us Your love through Jesus Christ. Help us to be patient, kind, and willing to serve. Open our eyes to those who need encouragement, and let Your love be seen in the way we treat one another. In Jesus’ name, amen.
With love and blessings,
